Company Description

Housing Development Corporation (HDC), formerly known as Sarawak Housing and Development Commission (SHDC), was established in 1971 under the Housing Development Commission Ordinance 1971. SHDC, a state statutory body under the Ministry of Housing, started its operations on 1 November 1972.

On 29 October 2002, the new Ordinance of Housing Development Corporation was passed in the State Legislative Assembly to replace the Housing and Development Commission Ordinance 1971.

Effective from 1 January 2003, SHDC was changed to Housing Development Corporation (HDC), which operates as a corporate body under the purview of the Ministry of Housing Sarawak.
